Firefighters put out blaze at aluminum factory

Firemen put out a large fire Wednesday at an Egypt Aluminium Company complex in Nagaa Hammadi, Qena.

A security source said that the fire started in a building allocated for one of most important phases in producing aluminum. The building held flammable tar, which led the four-story building to completely burn, a source within the factory said.

Security authorities are still investigating the fire and its causes.

An official source at the Qena governor’s office told Al-Masry Al-Youm that Governor Major General Adel Labib is cutting his vacation short and will visit the aluminum plant later on Wednesday to be updated on the investigations.
