A video clip showing Aliaa Elmahdy protesting nude with other activists in Stockholm was sent to the Interior Ministry by the Abdeen prosecutor’s office on Monday, so that the information department can attempt to find out which website it was initially posted on.

The measure is part of ongoing investigations into accusations of blasphemy and damaging the country’s reputation that have been levied against the activist.

Elmahdy recently joined protesters from Femen, a Ukrainian women’s rights organization, in a nude protest against Egypt’s Islamist-backed Constitution in front of the Egyptian Embassy in Stockholm. She wrote slogans critical of Islam and President Mohamed Morsy across her body.

Lawyer Mahmoud Abdel Rahman filed a complaint to Prosecutor General Talaat Abdallah, asking that Elmahdy be stripped of her citizenship.

Elmahdy entered the international spotlight in late 2011, sparking an uproar after posting nude photos of herself on her blog. She said she did so to protest against the oppression of Egyptian women.
