Parliamentary majority leader Hussein Ibrahim has said that Parliament was not dissolved, as the military council's dissolution order violates the Constitutional Declaration. “Parliament is convening Tuesday as usual,” he said.

“We will not surrender to a military coup the only authority that has been elected in Egypt,” Ibrahim, a Freedom and Justice Party MP, added. “The Constitutional Declaration gave the people and not the military council the right to dissolve Parliament in a referendum.”

Ibrahim also said that Mohamed Morsy, his party’s candidate in the presidential election runoff, is beating his rival, former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq, by far.

“Results contrary to the will of the people may lead to another revolution against the military council that does not respect that will,” he said.
