Only half a percent of Nour Party members have resigned, said Salafi Dawah Vice President Yasser Borhamy, and it has strong grassroots support in all governorates.

Emad Abdel Ghafour, the former president of the Salafi-oriented Nour Party, announced his resignation on Saturday, declaring his intention to form a new party that would be in a political alliance with former presidential candidate and Salafi preacher Hazem Salah Abou Ismail.

Another 150 members of the party resigned in December.
