Police prevented clashes between supporters of Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and those of Bassem Youssef outside the studio in which Youssef shoots his show. The studio, located on Talaat Harb Street, saw tensions between the two sides that began as verbal altercations.
Youssef supporters chanted slogans against the military, while Sisi supporters burnt a picture of Youssef.
Youssef came under severe criticism for his last show in which he was viewed by many as having insulted Sisi.
