Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu will arrive in Cairo next week, according to Russian media, part of a military delegation in the Egyptian capital.
On Thursday, Russian news agency RIA Nofsta quoted Russian Defense Ministry sources as saying the delegation is expected to visit Serbia and Egypt between the 12-15 November.
The delegation will include first deputy director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS), in addition to officials at the Russian state arms exporter, Rosoboronexport.
RIA Nofsta added that this visit was preceded by other officials from both sides to both Moscow and Cairo over the past few weeks.
Late last month Russia's military intelligence chief visited Cairo, a visit widely seen as ground preparation for a future visit by President Vladmir Putin.
