Two killed in clashes at al-Qanater al-Khairiya hospital

Two people were killed and eight policemen were injured when security from al-Qanater al-Khariya hospital clashed with relatives of a prisoner who died there, state-owned news agency MENA reported.
 
The prisoner was transferred from al-Qanater al-Khariya central prison after suiffering a heart attack but later died, MENA reported.
 

The relatives of the prisoner stole security forces conscripts guns amid the clashes. Police later regained control and prosecutors have been notified of the incident.

Investigations showed that the clashes erupted when prisoner Shaker Mohamed died at the hospital. Relatives assaulted the security personnel using bladed weapons and sticks which led to death of two persons who were at the hospital during the clashes. Eight policemen were also injured.

Sources from Qalubiya security department said a Health Ministry report found Mohamed had died from a heart attack. There were no signs of beating or torture, the report claimed.
