Security staff in Alexandria are on the lookout for the perpetrators of the Alexandria church bombing, after several eyewitnesses said that four people got out of a car only minutes before it exploded near the church.

The crime scene was combed for other car bombs and police checkpoints were set up in streets and squares.

A calm has gripped the Miami district in Alexandria where security presence has been beefed up following the attack that killed 21 people. Tighter security measures were adopted around embassies and churches.

Meanwhile, security staff are looking for fingerprints and inspecting the crime scene for evidence.
