The death toll from the bus accident on Safaga-Qena road on Tuesday has increased to 14. At least 25 others have been wounded.

Officials said that 25 ambulances rushed to the accident scene to rescue victims.

Preliminary investigations showed that the victims were on their way back to their village in Isna after coming from Hurghada. They were on a trip organized by the Lawyers Syndicate's branch in Isna. All of the victims were Copts.

Nearly 100,000 car accidents took place from 2008 to 2012, leaving nearly 33,000 dead and 155,000 injured, according to a government report released in March.
