Temperatures continue to drop across Egypt, moderate at night

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects temperatures to continue to drop in Greater Cairo, the northern parts of the country, and Lower Egypt, bringing a significant improvement in the weather, especially during the night and early morning hours.

The weather will be hot during the day on Tuesday in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and northern Upper Egypt, very hot in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt, and moderately hot on the northern coast.

Temperatures will be moderate at night in most parts of the country.

Active winds are expected across most parts of the country, potentially causing sand and dust storms in exposed areas, especially in South Sinai, the Red Sea mountain ranges, and Upper Egypt.

The EMA warned that maritime navigation will be disrupted in the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea, with wind speeds ranging from 50-70 km/h and wave heights ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 meters.

Morning fog is expected on some agricultural roads and highways near bodies of water.

The EMA advised drivers to slow down, keep their headlights on, and leave safe distances between vehicles to protect the lives of pedestrians and passengers.

Expected temperatures on Tuesday:

  • Matrouh: 24C
  • Alexandria: 25C
  • Cairo: 31C
  • Hurghada: 34C
  • Sharm El-Sheikh: 37C
  • Aswan and Luxor: 43C
