Egypt’s oppressive heatwave eases with slight drop in temperatures on Tuesday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects a slight drop in temperatures on Tuesday, with very hot and humid weather continuing during the day across most parts of the country, and hot and humid on the northern coasts.

The weather will be relatively hot at night and early morning, with a chances of light, intermittent rain in parts of Halayeb City.

The EMA expects active winds along some beaches in Marsa Matrouh, al-Alamein, and Alexandria, causing waves ranging from 1.5 to 2.25 meters high in the Mediterranean Sea.

Winds will also be active along parts of the northern coast, Lower Egypt, and southern Upper Egypt, potentially stirring up sand and dust in parts of the Western Desert.

Tuesday’s temperatures:

  • Alexandria: 36C
  • Cairo: 38C
  • Hurghada: 40C
  • Sharm el-Sheikh: 41C
  • Luxor 44C
  • Aswan: 45C
