FM asserts support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity

CAIRO, Nov 8 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Saturday with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam during which he asserted Egypt’s full rejection of any infringement on Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity.

The call addressed the ongoing developments in southern Lebanon and the ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and achieve stability.

Abdelatty emphasized the importance of prioritizing calm and dialogue to preserve Lebanon’s and the region’s security and stability.

He reiterated Egypt’s steadfast position in supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty, national unity and independence in decision-making as well as backing its national institutions to fully exercise their responsibilities in maintaining stability, ensuring security and addressing current challenges to safeguard the interests of the Lebanese people.
