Egypt solidified its position as the most attractive destination for Russian tourists.
This surge in popularity is attributed not only to the warm weather and temperate Red Sea waters but also to the striking balance between service quality and cost compared to competing beach destinations.
Russian travel agencies, speaking to Interfax Tourism, confirmed that Egyptian resorts are currently the top choice for travelers seeking comfortable vacations at competitive prices.
Competitive edge and seamless travel
Marina Makarkova, Head of Public Relations at Coral Travel, noted that Egypt offers highly competitive pricing during this period.
The market is supported by high-quality hotels operating on an all-inclusive basis, featuring brands well-known to Russian travelers such as Rixos, Pickalbatros, Jaz, and Sunrise.
Makarkova added that the ease of travel, short flight durations, and straightforward visa procedures are key factors enhancing Egypt’s appeal.
Pricing breakdown and market shifts
According to tour operators, the cost of a one-week holiday in Hurghada this February starts at approximately 55,000 rubles for two people in a three-star hotel (bed and breakfast).
In early March, an all-inclusive four-star vacation costs roughly 109,000 rubles for two. For longer stays, 10-day packages at four- and five-star hotels range between 170,000 and 190,000 rubles for two people.
Mikhail Nesterov, head of the Fantasy Line agency, emphasized that Egypt has become a year-round best-seller, particularly as prices in Turkey have risen. He pointed out that Hurghada attracts those seeking tranquil beaches, while Sharm El-Sheikh remains the favorite for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts, noting that both are ideal for families.
Record-breaking performance
According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), Egypt topped the list of international destinations in February with a 26.5 percent market share.
It has also been ranked as the most affordable beach destination of 2025, a year in which it welcomed approximately two million Russian tourists.
