Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawy, reassured citizens regarding the state of the electricity grid during the upcoming summer, emphasizing the government’s full readiness to support the network, RT reported on Wednesday.
In his message to citizens, he assured that “this summer will be safe and without power outages.”
Badawy confirmed that preparations for summer are proceeding in full coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy to secure the fuel and gas needs of power plants.
During a periodic meeting with members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, Badawy explained that the ministry is working to increase domestic oil and gas production, enhance investor and partner confidence, and encourage international companies to inject more investments into exploration and production activities.
He pointed out that intensive efforts are focused on fully securing the electricity and industrial sectors’ needs for petroleum products and natural gas.
This is being done through integrated work with the relevant ministries and institutions, and with the support and follow-up of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, to ensure market stability and meets demand during peak consumption periods.
