12 key facts about the New Delta project: One of Egypt’s largest agricultural mega-projects

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi witnessed on Sunday the inauguration of the “New Delta” integrated developmental project, recognized as one of the largest agricultural and developmental mega-projects executed by the state in recent years.

  • Massive Agricultural Reclamation: The mega-project aims to reclaim and cultivate approximately 2.5 million feddans of land within the Western Desert regions.

  • Advanced Water Management: The initiative relies heavily on treated agricultural drainage water, processed using state-of-the-art technologies to ensure maximum efficiency and sustainability of water resources.

  • Strategic Logistical Location: Situated along the Rod El Farag–Dabaa axis and close to 6th of October City, the project benefits from a highly advantageous logistical position for transport and supply chains.

  • Expansive Geographic Footprint: The project covers an extensive area, stretching nearly 120 kilometers in length with a depth ranging between 60 and 70 kilometers.
