Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil met officials from Chinese sports technology company Dafeng to discuss cooperation, investment opportunities and localization of sports-related industries in Egypt.
Talks covered Egypt’s preparations to host the 2027 African Games. Dafeng presented an integrated proposal for the development of a comprehensive sports complex on the site.
Nabil said Egypt continues to strengthen its stand as one of the region’s most attractive investment destinations and expressed openness to expanding cooperation with China, citing the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries.
He also said Egypt’s economic fundamentals and stability provide a secure environment for investors and stressed the government’s commitment to promoting local manufacturing in the sports sector through partnerships with international companies.
“Egypt is preparing to host the 2027 African Games, which will feature several events serving as qualifiers for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. He said potential areas of cooperation related to the tournament would be explored with the Chinese side,” the Minister added.
Dafeng officials expressed interest in expanding operations in Egypt, through cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, including investment in sports projects, training Egyptian personnel and establishing a manufacturing facility in the country with government support.
Dafeng is one of China’s leading companies in the sports sector. The company is involved in sports-related publishing and participated in the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics. It also provides technological, cultural and maintenance services.
