The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts hot and humid weather across northern Egypt on Friday, with very hot conditions expected in the south.
A noticeable decrease in humidity levels is anticipated in the southern regions, making the perceived temperature less impacted by the humidity compared to the north.
The EMA indicated that the high humidity will increase the perceived temperature by one to two degrees Celsius above actual temperatures recorded in the shade.
Egypt will not be affected by the heatwave currently gripping Western Europe, the EMA assured, which coincides with high humidity levels near the Earth’s surface.
The heatwave has caused a significant rise in temperatures in Western Europe (France, Spain, England, and Germany), exceeding 40C during the daytime and resulting in several deaths.
Friday’s temperatures:
- Matrouh: 29C
- Alexandria: 30C
- Cairo: 35C
- Hurghada: 37C
- Sharm El-Sheikh: 38C
- Luxor: 40C
- Aswan: 41C
