Egypt stands firm on Arab security and Gaza ceasefire: Sisi to CIA Director

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met on Sunday in Cairo with CIA Director John Ratcliffe and General Intelligence Service Chief Hassan Rashad to review high-level security coordination and key Middle Eastern and African crises.

During the meeting, Ratcliffe conveyed greetings from US President Donald Trump, praising Egypt’s pivotal diplomatic role and the deep counter-terrorism and intelligence cooperation between the CIA and Egyptian intelligence.

Gaza ceasefire 

President Sisi urged for fully implementing the second phase of President Trump’s plan to stabilize the Gaza ceasefire, secure sustained humanitarian aid delivery, and pave the way for a fair two-state political settlement.

Iran and maritime security

Discussions also touched on efforts to reach a comprehensive resolution to the Iranian crisis, safeguard international navigation, and restore regional stability.

Sudan sovereignty

Sisi reiterated Egypt’s firm support for Sudan’s national unity, state institutions, and territorial integrity, stressing Cairo’s active diplomatic role in pushing to end the conflict.

Horn of Africa and Somalia

And the Egyptian President reaffirmed his nation’s unequivocal rejection of any infringement on Somalia’s sovereignty or territorial integrity.
