Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Sunday, October 4, 2026, held a meeting to review efforts to provide agricultural fertilizers and the latest steps to regulate their distribution to farmers.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Alaa Farouk, Industry Minister Khaled Hashem, and officials from several relevant entities.
The Premier stressed the State’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector, citing President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s continued directives to support farmers through an integrated vision that maximizes the sector’s resources and potential.
This support will help expand cultivated areas, diversify crops, particularly strategic ones, strengthen food security, meet domestic demand for various crops and increase agricultural exports, Madbouly added.
The Prime M1inister highlighted the government’s continued keenness to ensure the availability of all requirements for agricultural production, including the necessary fertilizers, in a way that boosts crop productivity and helps achieve further social and economic targets for both farmers and the State.
The meeting also tackled measures being taken in coordination with relevant entities to strengthen oversight of the agricultural fertilizer distribution system, ensuring that subsidized fertilizers reach eligible farmers and that the support provided for this purpose does not go to ineligible recipients.
It also followed up on efforts to supply fertilizers to farmers through agricultural cooperatives across the country, as well as measures to improve oversight of fertilizer distribution and allocation to eligible farmers, thereby enhancing transparency and efficiency.
