Fans of singers Kazem al-Saher and Amr Diab were treated by the release of “Small Affairs” the first-ever duet between both singers, based on a poem by Nizar Qabbani sung by Kazem.
However, they quickly noticed something off with Diab’s voice – it was actually AI generated.

Audience reactions were mixed.
Some felt that Diab’s likeness was almost perfect, while others criticized the duet as an infringement on his rights by using his voice for a song he did not authorize.
The Society of Authors Composers and Music Publishers of Egypt (SACERAU) issued a warning statement against any party that exploits the music of its members without obtaining a permit from it.
