The Air Force killed terrorist elements who targeted worshipers at al-Rawda mosque in the al-Arish town of Beir al-Abd, in North Sinai, on Friday and destroyed vehicles used in the attack, Armed Forces Spokesperson Colonel Tamer al-Refaei announced in a statement.
Storage facilities containing weapons and ammunition belonging to the terrorists were also destroyed, he added.
The armed forces continue to hunt for the rest of perpetrators, he said, expressing condolences for the families of victims.
On Friday Morning, a massive explosion in al-Rawada mosque, located in the town of Beir al-Abd, in North Sinai’s al-Arish.
The improvised explosive device, targeted worshippers gathering for Friday prayers.
The explosion was followed by gunfire from unknown militants who stationed ahead of the mosque’s gates.
