Arab holidaymakers fill up Sharm el-Sheikh hotels in Eid al-Adha

Rooms in Red Sea and South Sinai hotels are fully booked for the Eid al-Adha holiday in September. Reservations at various hotels surged up to 100 percent, managers of hotels and tourists villages in Hurghada said.

Accommodation for double-rooms per night in Hurghada hotels cost LE4000 while full- board accommodation prices, per night, in tourist villages ranges between LE1000 and LE2500.

According to Chairman of the Tourist Guides Syndicate, Bashar Abu Taleb, in the Red Sea governorate, internal tourism accounts for 60 percent of the current hotel occupancies, which continue until mid September.

Around 90 percent of hotel and resort rooms in Sharm el-Sheikh are booked by various Arab travelers from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Jordan, who prefer to spend their vacations in Sharm el-Sheikh during Eid al-Adha and weary of jellyfish warnings in the North Coast.

Manager of Tourism Promotion Authority in South Sinai, Islam Nabil, revealed that tourists from 25 nationalities currently spend their vacation in South Sinai. The largest number came from Ukraine, Italy and Germany.

Meanwhile, the super star Egyptian singer Amro Diab will be organizing, for first time, a concert September 2 at the Al-Mamsha Al-Seyahi area in Hurghada. Ticket prices vary between LE500 for standing and LE1500 for VIP.
