Army spokesperson: Two terrorists killed 37 others arrested in Sinai

Army troops killed two terrorists in northern Sinai in an exchange of fire as they tried to attack a checkpoint and arrested 37 others in Arish, Sheikh Zuweid, Rafah, Abu Sultan, The Tenth of Ramadan City, Mansoura and Talkha during crackdowns, according to military spokesperson Mohamed Samir.

Samir added that the troops also seized binoculars, rifles, three four-wheel-drive cars and two motorcycles without license plates that were used in terrorist operations, and destroyed four tunnels in Rafah.
 
He also said the border guards thwarted attempts to smuggle people and goods across the border, where 19 individuals were arrested for illegal immigration, including five Syrians, nine Eritreans, a Sudanese and a citizen of the Comoros.
 
Also seized were sniper rifles, machine guns and 300 bullets in North Sinai as well as 495 kg of marijuana in the city of Zafranah.
