Assar, Abdel Dayem discuss mobile theaters, libraries

Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed al-Assar received on Tuesday Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem at the headquarters of the Military Production Ministry to discuss ways of cooperation in the processing and installation of mobile theaters and family libraries.

The two sides agreed to form a committee of the two ministries to develop technical specifications for mobile theaters and libraries that will be affiliated to the Culture Ministry.

They also discussed developing a plan for the development and rehabilitation of suspended theaters.

Assar explained that the Ministry of Military Production believes in the role of art and culture in society and in the development of the minds of young people through correcting misconceptions by tackling important issues as well as spreading awareness of the role played by the government for the development of society.

According to Assar, the Military Production Ministry is ready to provide the necessary support to the Culture Ministry projects, including mobile theaters and family libraries, whether upgrading the existing ones or installing new ones.

He added that the Ministry of Military Production is ready to provide vehicles for the Ministry of Culture for mobile theaters and libraries, beside any other equipment available to the military production companies.

Abdel Dayem expressed her full confidence in the role of the Ministry of Military Production in supporting culture and spreading awareness. She praised the ministry’s role in the renovation of cultural palaces and theaters, and expressed her willingness to increase cooperation between the two parties.

She explained that the Ministry of Culture is seeking to increase the number of mobile theaters due to low number, as a means of supporting emerging artistic groups and bands in governorates. It also seeks to provide mobile family libraries in villages to promote awareness and encourage reading.
