Bomb explodes near Mariotteya gas chamber, other found in Mohandeseen

Chief of the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) Ashraf Zaki said saboteurs planted a bomb at the communication chamber of the al-Mariotteya gas chamber on the Tanash-Dahshour pipeline.
 
No harm was caused as the chamber is underground, Zaki added. However, other communication chambers were destroyed. Consumers are being provided with the gas through the pipeline daily.
 
No casualties were reported, according to Zaki. Financial losses will be estimated later after inspecting the site. Security services were notified.
 
Meanwhile, traffic flowed normally on Thursday in Mohandeseen district after being diverted for a brief period after a bomb was found next to a military armored vehicle on Ahmed Oraby street.
 
After bombs experts were able to defuse the explosives, preliminary inspection showed it was an anti-armor bomb.
 
Major General Saeed Taema, head of Giza traffic department, said traffic shortly after returned to normal. Each of Ahmed Oraby and Game’at al-Dowal al-Arabiya streets were reopened after traffic was diverted for half an hour.
