Book fair to be postponed for three days until revolution anniversary is over

Egyptian General Book Authority Chief Ahmed Megahed has announced postponing the 46th session of Cairo International Book Fair for three days to be held on 28 January instead of 25 January 2015, until end of the fourth anniversary of the January revolution.

The political situation and security circumstances are getting better every year, he said, adding that the authority hopes that the coming fair be the best of the past three previous sessions held after the 2011 revolution and that sales and visitors increase.

The fair is scheduled to end on 12 February.

Megahed added that the fair is an international one, thus we should stick to its time, which is the last ten days of January. Saudi Arabia will be the fair’s guest of honor.

Megahed also called on the intellectuals to submit their proposals related to the fair as well as the figure of the year.
