Cairo University announces 3 days of mourning over killed student

Cairo University administration announced three days of mourning over the killing Mohamed Reda, a student at the Faculty of Engineering, last week on campus.

Work will continue as usual at the university though, a Cairo University official source told Al-Masry Al-Youm.

The official said Reda had been killed during clashes with security forces at Cairo University last week.

The mourning will begin Sunday and end on Tuesday, he added.

Cairo University witnessed wide-scale protests Sunday after nine student unions announced a strike and staged protests to denounce the killing of two students, one on campus and the other near Tahrir Square, and to demand the release of their detained colleagues.
