Cairo University students march to Ain Shams University demanding detainees’ release

Dozens of Cairo University students marched to Ain Shams University Thursday, mourning Abul Hassan Ibrahim, the Ain Shams student who was killed during the Abbasseya clashes last week.

Meanwhile, another march was launched by dozens of others towards the People’s Assembly to express the demands of penalizing perpetrators responsible for the clashes and releasing those detained there.

Several movements like the April 6 Youth Movement, Kefaya, the Revolutionary Socialists and the Democratic Front took part at the march

“Around 17 movements from three universities took part at the march, which is an escalating step to press for the release of the detained students,” said Hossam Ahmed, a senior at Cairo University Law School and member of April 6.

Protesters shouted angry chants and raised banners and slogans condemning military rule.
