Constitution Committee considers making VP elected position

The Constitutional Amendments Committee is considering adding an article stipulating that the vice president should be elected and not appointed by the president.

Sources said other amendments would limit the terms of the presidency, and stipulate that the prime minister should come from the parliamentary majority.

The committee is also considering to task the first instance courts with supervising the elections instead of the interior ministry.
