Court accepts prosecution appeal against Ezz innocence

The Economic Misdemeanor Court of Appeals accepted on Wednesday a prosecutional appeal against innocence of Ahmed Ezz, steel tycoon affiliated with former President Hosni Mubarak’s regime, and Alaa Abul Kheir, the managing director of Dekheila Steel company and Samir Raouf No’man, the company’s sales director from the charge of steel monopoly.

Court fined each of Ezz and Abul Kheir LE100 million and No’man LE500,000 for engaging in monopolistic practices.

Public Funds prosecution earlier referred the suspects to trial for monopolizing steel, which violated law no. 3 for the year 2005.
