Court bans student protests without university presidents’ approvals

Cairo Court for Urgent Matters has banned student protests on university campuses without an approval in advance by the university president.

Lawyer Khaled Suleiman had filed an earlier lawsuit demanding the measure.

Violence and confrontations between students and police forces have been taking place since the beginning of the academic year. Many students have been killed and hundreds arrested in the clashes.
