Daily Ramadan Recipe #3: Spaghetti and meatballs

Whenever I see a fork twirling strands in a spoon with yummy meat sauce, my stomach starts to growl. When I was a child, spaghetti and meatballs was my favorite Italian dish. It can be easily prepared in no time at all. No wonder it is still my favorite after growing up. Here are the steps you should follow to enjoy a delicious spaghetti and meatballs dish at iftar with your family.


 -1/2 kilo spaghetti

-1/4 kilo ground beef

-2 small onions

-3 tablespoons finely fresh parsley

-2 large spoons tomato sauce

-Olive oil


-Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Get plenty of boiling water, then add a tablespoon of oil and salt. When the water returns to a boil, put the pasta in the pot, stir it constantly on high heat while leaving the pot uncovered. Wait till the pasta is cooked but is still a little firm. Then drain in a colander.
  2. Chop the onion, then mix it with salt and pepper.
  3. Add the mixture to the meat, stir constantly.
  4. Add parsely.
  5. With wet hands, divide the meat into pieces and shape it into little meatballs
  6. Heat a large frying pan on a medium heat and put the meatballs and then add butter.
  7. When the meat color become lightly golden, add tomato sauce then stir them all around and cook for 10-15 minutes until golden.
  8.  Pour the meatballs on the pasta and serve it hot.
