Egypt, Greece and Cyprus holding tripartite meeting on Saturday

 

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will meet on Saturday with his Cypriot counterpart Nicos Anastasiades and Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras to discuss means of boosting trilateral relations.

The meeting will particularly focus on economic, trade, investment and tourism relations, as well as efforts to counter terrorism.

According to the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC), the meetings will focus on energy matters including the defining of the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) between Cyprus and Greece and Greece and Egypt.

Turkish violations of Cyprus' EEZ and the Cyprus Problem are also expected to be on the agenda, CyBC reported.

They will also talk about coordinating political stances at regional and international forums.

Reliable sources told the Cyprus News Agency (CAN) that the Trilateral Meeting will approve a joint declaration which will set the framework for the cooperation between the countries.

The declaration will also include references to the Cyprus problem, the recent Turkish provocations in the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone, as well references for the commencement of negotiations for the delimitation of EEZ among the countries of the Trilateral cooperation that have not yet proceeded with.

A joint press conference will follow the meeting.
