Egypt, Mauritania sign six agreements, memos

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz signed six agreements and memorandums of understanding between the two countries in different fields. Abdel Aziz arrived in Egypt on Saturday for a three-day visit.

The agreements included one on maritime cooperation, which was signed by Transportation Minister Galal al-Saeed and the Mauritanian foreign affairs minister. An agreement and memorandum of understanding relating to the housing sector were signed by Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the Mauritanian foreign affairs and housing ministers.

The proposal for an executive program for bilateral cultural cooperation for the years 2016-2019 was also signed by Egyptian Culture Minister Helmy al-Namnam and the Mauritanian foreign affairs and culture ministers. An agreement on cooperation in the field of livestock was signed by Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed and the Mauritanian veterinary medicine minister. A memo was signed by the two countries’ health ministers, in addition to a bilateral cooperation protocol on oil, signed by Egyptian Petroleum Minister Tareq al-Mulla and his Mauritanian counterpart.
