Egypt’s Steel rebar prices increase 5.9% in September

Egypt's Steel rebar prices increased by 5,9 percent in Septemer.2014, reaching an average of LE5315.50 per ton, compared to LE5,017.80 in September 2013, date released by he Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAMAS) showed on Tuesday.
 
Meanwhile, the average price of steel ‏on a monthly basis rose by 0.09 percent in September from a month earlier.
 
CAMAS attributed the rising prices to shortage of steel in the market as a result of a shortage of natural gas supplies to factories.
 
In a related news, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has resumed a gradual supply of natural gas to the plants of Al Ezz Dekheila Steel, in which Ezz Steel owns a 55 percent stake, on 1 October, the company said in a statement .
 
"The current supply of natural gas, however, still doesn't fully cover the company’s needs," it added.
