Egypt to reduce the prices of PCR tests for COVID-19

The Egyptian Cabinet agreed during its meeting on Tuesday to reduce the value of administrative expenses collected from travelers wishing to conduct a PCR analysis for COVID-19 according to variables in the prices of reagents conducting these analyzes.

Other factors taken into account will include operating costs to provide the service on time as well as the development of various services.

The decision stipulated that the analysis for Egyptians would be worth LE900 instead of LE1200, and for non-Egyptians, it will be LE1200 instead of LE1600.

The government is introducing a new service of delivering analysis within two hours at a value of LE 1600 for Egyptians, and LE1800 for non-Egyptians, and the analysis is carried out at airports according to variables of the epidemiological situation at around LE1000.
