Egyptian-Chinese Naval forces began on Wednesday a maritime exercise within the boundaries of the northern maritime fleet in the Mediterranean sea. The training features the participation of several Egyptian warships and the Chinese destroyer XIAN-153, said military spokesperson Tamer al-Refeai.
The two countries’ naval forces received training for terrorist threats from missile boats and in methods of combating terrorism and piracy and their accompanying procedures. The forces practiced exercises pertaining to the right to visit and inspect suspicious ships, transportation signaling exercises, and several sailing formations designed for daylight and nighttime.
The exercise aims to unifying operational concepts, educate forces on the various combat doctrines, and exchange expertise.
