The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects the Indian monsoon low contributing to the heatwave across the nation to withdraw starting mid-September.
The EMA also anticipates increased wind activity across most of the country during the night.
Temperatures are expected to drop by up to six degrees Celsius by the end of September across most of the country, with rainfall expected in some governorates.
During the first half of September, temperatures are expected to reach between 35C in Greater Cairo and most other areas, reaching up to 38C during the day in Upper Egypt, with decreased humidity.
Saturday’s Weather
Saturday will be slightly hot and humid at night and the early morning hours, becoming very hot during the day in Greater Cairo and northern Egypt and very hot in southern Egypt.
Winds will be occasionally active in some areas, with speeds ranging between 30-35 km/h, possibly stirring stir up sand and dust in parts of Upper Egypt and the Red Sea Governorate.
Winds will also pick up along some beaches in Marsa Matrouh, el–Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Gamasa, Damietta, and Port Said, leading to waves reaching heights of 1.5 to two meters in September.
The EMA urged citizens to take the necessary precautions and stay updated on its latest warnings.
