Egypt’s army aids in extinguishing wildfires in Greece

The General Command of the Egyptian Armed Forces issued orders to dispatch three Chinook helicopters equipped with all equipment to aid Greek authorities in extinguishing wildfires raging across forests in Greece.

This move affirms the strong historical relations between Egypt and Greece, and comes in implementation of  directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and of Egypt’s tireless support to aid all friendly countries in whatever crisis they face.

Wildfires destroyed vast areas of forests in Greece, and prompted authorities to carry out massive evacuations from the island of Rhodes after fires got out of control coinciding with temperatures rising to 45C.
