Faiza Abul Naga: Foreign aid is spent on designated purposes

Foreign aid to Egypt is spent according to its designated purposes, said Minister for International Cooperation Faiza Abul Naga, denying reports that former First Lady Suzanne Mubarak seized aid intended for the National Council for Women.

Abul Naga told Al-Masry Al-Youm that no investigation was being conducted into the illegal acquisition by Suzanne Mubarak of funds intended for the organization, and that such rumors are baseless.

In related news, Abul Naga will meet with her Qatari counterpart, Khaled Attiya, on Saturday. Attiya will be visiting Cairo with a high-level delegation to hold a joint committee to discuss increased cooperation between the two countries and the strengthening of economic and trade relations.

According  to a source from the Qatari Embassy in Cairo, the Qatari Ambassador in Egypt Saleh Abdullah Albo'enin is in Doha and will return to Cairo with the official delegation, which will include businessmen who own major investment companies in Qatar.
