FM: Egypt keen on success of COP27

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, the President-Designate of the 27th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), stressed Wednesday the Egyptian state’s keenness on exerting its utmost for the global event’s success.

At a meeting with Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad, the Ministerial Coordinator and Envoy of the conference, he said the success of COP27, which is one of the most important events tabled on the international multilateral action agenda, and the successful achievement of its objectives will serve the benefit of all countries.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said that the two ministers’ meeting aims at ensuring coordination between the concerned national authorities to boost ongoing preparations for holding the conference in Sharm El-Sheikh on November 6-18.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman added that the two ministers discussed preparations to participate in pre-COP27 talks set for October 3-4 in Kinshasa.
