FM to German-Egyptian Parliamentary Friendship Group: Cairo prioritizes parliamentary diplomacy

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 Cairo values parliamentary diplomacy as a key channel for strengthening ties with countries including Germany.

In a meeting with German Bundestag’s German-Egyptian Parliamentary Friendship Group, the minister praised what he termed as strong and expanding political, economic and investment relations between the two countries.

Abdelatty highlighted Egypt’s ongoing economic reforms and infrastructure projects aimed at attracting more foreign investment.

He also welcomed continued parliamentary exchanges, including a recent visit to Cairo by German MP Alexander Radwan.

Abdelatty briefed the German side on regional developments, notably the situation in Gaza, reiterating Egypt’s support for a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Al-Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital and called for coordinated international efforts to uphold the Gaza ceasefire, implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and deploy an international stabilization force. He also stressed the need to ensure humanitarian, relief and medical aid reaches civilians in the enclave.

Egypt remains committed to peaceful political solutions across the region, respect for state sovereignty, and cooperation with partners to promote stability in the Middle East, said the minister.
