Foreign Ministry calls on Egyptians abroad to contribute to national economy

The Foreign Ministry on Wednesday called on Egyptians living abroad to donate to the national economy via two accounts at the Central Bank of Egypt, on the occasion of the resumption of trading in the Egyptian stock exchange.

The account numbers are 25-1-2011 and 8/57158.

The ministry also called on Egyptians abroad to buy investment funds of Egyptian banks, or invest in projects that serve the Egyptian economy, as a means of mitigating its damages.

The Egyptian stock indices tumbled to historic lows by the close of trading on Wednesday. It had been closed for 55 days due to the 25 January Revolution that ousted former President Hosni Mubarak.

The EGX 30 index of the 30 most active company stocks traded in the market went down 8.9 percent, to close at 5,142.71 points.
