Giza residents protest outside Cabinet demanding housing

Several residents of Giza province staged on Sunday a protest outside the back gate of Cabinet on Hussein Hegazy Street demanding the government provide them with residential apartments.

One of the protesters said that the citizens affected “are from several areas including Kitkat, Giza, Bulaq and Al-Munib. Their houses were ordered to be demolished in 1992 after the earthquake. They submitted several complaints to Giza province to obtain residential units but none of their requests were approved.”

The protester called on officials to swiftly provide the affected citizens, estimated at 150 families, with apartments, especially since the governorate officials earlier informed them that they could receive the apartments.
