Govt committee seizes funds of Qaradawi children

The committee that manages the seized Muslim Brotherhood (MB) funds, confiscated the funds and property of 16 MB members on Thursday, including the funds of MB preacher Youssef al-Qaradwi’s three sons and three daughters.

The funds included bank balances in Egyptian and foreign currency, deposits, securities, bonds, lands, real estate, agricultural lands and other property directly or indirectly owned.

The Arab International Company for Commercial Agencies, which owns Alef bookstore, was among the seized property, including the 37 branches in all governorates.

Business News for publication and distribution which owns the Daily News was sequestered and its owner Mostafa Mokhtar Saqr was arrested.

Business Media Group for advertisement and the Capital Markets Institute were also taken over.

The committee assigned Akhbar al-Youm for Investment company to run all of the expropriated media bodies.

The committee, in addition, took over the Cairo Gate Publishing and Distribution Company, owned by Abdel Wahid Abdel Ghany Abdel Wahid Ashour and Sherif Abdel Ghany.

The committee has taken measures to change the administrations of some schools that were previously seized by the committee, like Jana Dan School, Al-Andalus International School, Manarat al Mostaqbal Language School, Al-Bashaer International School and others.
