Health Ministry: Health insurance budget upped to cover 70% of Egyptians

The budget of health insurance has been raised to 42.5 million pounds in order to include new segments, secure drugs and medical supplies, along with ensuring a health insurance coverage for more than 70 percent of Egyptians, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Health and Housing, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.
The spokesman, in statements to “Al Masriya” TV satellite channel on Tuesday, said the renovation operations carried out by the Health Ministry fall within the framework of the presidential initiative “Decent Life”.
He added that new categories will enjoy the State’s health insurance coverage, including farmers, drivers and irregular workers.
