Heat wave to continue in Egypt until Saturday

Egypt continues to experience a heat wave that started Wednesday, and is expected to end Saturday, Manar Ghanem, a member of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s media center, said, adding that the maximum temperature in Cairo is expected to reach 38C, on Thursday.

Ghanem explained, in a phone call to the “Good Morning Egypt” program, broadcast on Egyptian TV, that Egypt is mostly affected by blocks of southeastern hot air masses.

Ghanem predicted an increase in humidity and longer periods of sun brightness, which contributes to increasing the feeling of hot weather.

She added that during the night hours, the weather will be moderate throughout the country.

Active winds will work to reduce the feeling of humid weather at night.

The heat wave will end on Saturday, which will see the peak of hot temperatures, reaching 39C in Cairo and 44C in southern Upper Egypt.
