Heatwave across Egypt continues, very hot weather expected for Monday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a continued rise in temperatures across most of the country, rising by from two to three degrees.

The weather will be moderate at night and in the early morning, and very hot during the day in most areas, becoming slightly hot to hot along the northern coast.

Greater Cairo is expected to reach 36C during the daytime.

The EMA further warned of high humidity levels, which will increase the perceived temperature by one to two degrees compared to the actual temperature in the shade.

Occasional wind activity is expected, with speeds ranging from 30-32 km/h, in parts of Greater Cairo, the northwestern coast, South Sinai, the Red Sea Governorate, and Upper and Lower Egypt.

These winds may stir up sand and dust in parts of the Western Desert.

The EMA urged citizens to avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours and to drink plenty of water and fluids, as the hot weather and high humidity are expected to continue for the next few days.
