The National Elections Authority (NEA) announced on Monday that incumbent President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has been voted as the next president of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the 2024 presidential elections, securing a third term.
The NEA in a press conference also announced the number of votes obtained by each candidate.
Candidate Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, symbol of the star, received 39,702,451 votes, or 89.6 percent of the total valid votes – a landslide victory.
Sisi ran against Abdel-Sanad Yamama, Hazem Omar, and Farid Zahran.
According to the scheduled timetable for the 2024 presidential elections, the process of electing abroad began on December 1, and continued throughout December 2-3.
Voting inside Egypt began on December 10 and continued throughout December 11-12.
In the event that a runoff is held for the 2024 presidential elections, the final presidential election results will be announced no later than Tuesday, January 16, 2024, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
The National Elections Authority clarified that it had not received any appeals from the presidential candidates or their agents regarding the voting process during this year’s presidential elections.
