Interior Ministry thwarts Muslim Brotherhood attempts to hamper traffic

Limited groups of Muslim Brotherhood supporters protested on Sunday evening before al-Iman and al-Salam mosques in Nasr City, as well as areas of Hada’eq al-Qubba, Arab al-Maadi and some areas in Alexandria, said Interior Ministry’s security information center official.

In a statement on Sunday, the official said protesters attempted to hamper traffic and were confronted by security troops who dispersed them to re-allow traffic flow. Fifteen protesters were arrested in Cairo.

Marches were also staged by students in universities of Cairo, Mansoura and Al-Azhar University in Assiut. Though they attempted to spread protests off campus, troops contained them inside the universities.

Security services in Alexandria, according to the official, arrested 11 leaders with the Brotherhood including Hussein Ibrahim, Freedom and Justice Party leader. Security measures are being taken against them.
